Trend Alert Tuesday | Happy Father’s Day

Father’s Day is fast approaching. I don’t know about you, but the Fathers in my life are not easy to surprise with gifts. Personalized and meaningful presents are always the best and sometimes I just know what they would like.  I hope you like these fun, unique and sure to please ideas for Dad this Father’s Day.

Bedtime stories with Dad or Mom are a nighttime routine in our house and it might be in your house too.  For Father’s Day treat Dad to some new reading material.

Books

Daddy Hugs by Karen Katz – Daddy loves to give baby hugs to say “I Love You!” Now baby and Daddy can cuddle and count along with this hug-and-read book perfect for baby’s teeny, tiny hands.

Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss – This book is a great idea to get Dad tongue tied while reading to his youngsters!

Happy Father’s Day! by Mercer Mayer – I collected these books as a child and can’t wait for my son to read these with his Daddy.  In Happy Father’s Day! by Mercer Mayer Little Critter and Little Sister have decided to plan a big surprise for Dad and Grandpa. Join them as they make cards, cook a special breakfast together, and put on a magic show. Lift the flaps and find out what Father’s Day surprises are in store!

Personalized Fathers Day Photo Book – Gather up your favorite photos and memories to make a book for Father’s Day. There are several sites out there to assist you in making a spectacular book for Dad that he will cherish for years to come.  Blurb, Shutterfly and Snapfish are just a few to name. Go crazy!

Think handmade when it comes to Father’s Day this year.  A DIY gift is meaningful and Dad would love to receive trendy keepsakes from his little ones.

DIY

Daddy’s Stache – This is a perfect gift for my Husband.  He always empties his pockets all over the house and now…he has a home for it all!  It’s really easy to make and low cost as well.

Canvas – This is a great idea and all items can be found at your local craft store.  Personalize it with Dad’s favorite colors too. The kids can be involved and who doesn’t love paint and getting a little messy!

Dad Collage – Another great idea and a trip to the local craft store will have Dad grinning from ear to ear!  Choose a fun style of letters that spell out D-A-D, pick out a fun frame and get your camera ready (or set up a session with one of our great photographers!) As far as setting up the shot 1 child could be in 3 photos holding each letter, 2 children could be in 1 photo each holding a D and sharing the A, 3 children could each hold a letter in each photo, more kids could share holding each letter in 3 different pictures. You can also do a single shot. So many options!

Gift Card – Maybe Dad has something in mind for himself and you just don’t know what.  A gift card is a great option for that situation.  How boring are those plain gift-card holders?  Jazz up that gift card with a DIY Gift Card Holder.  Free Printable’s are all over the Internet so search for the perfect one for this Father’s Day gift.

Dads are #1 and celebrate your Dad in style. Whether Dad is new to the whole father hood thing or an old pro these gift ideas are good for any Dad that deserves something special this Father’s Day.
