Happy Valentines Day

I think there is a chance that, I kind-of-sort of quite possibly might be in LOVE…with Valentines Day!  Now I understand that some people may believe that it comes with a barrage of store bought Hallmark cards and pressure to make plans for a romantic evening however this holiday is a great occasion to think about those you LOVE.  Why do you LOVE them?  What does it mean to be LOVED?  Most importantly for me…how do I show this LOVE?  Well…I like to indulge in some sweets and treats and share those with my loved ones.

Start your morning off with saying, “I love you” with…

A little Valentine Egg Sandwich

Valentines

Ingredients:
Bread
Egg
Butter

How to:
Butter one side of the bread. Separate the egg white and yolk into two bowls. Place the sandwich, buttered-side down, in a pan over medium heat and grill until golden brown then remove. Butter the uncooked side of the sandwich. Using a heart cookie cutter cut out the center. Return both pieces of the sandwich to the pan. Add egg white to fill the bottom of the empty center then slip the egg yolk into the center. Cover the pan and let everything cook for a couple minutes. Once the egg appears to be cooked, immediately remove the sandwich and voila!

I saved the best for last and numerous of my friends and family would agree.  Red, White and Pink make a lovely mix and in just 30 minutes!

Ingredients:
4 ½ cups Rice Chex® cereal

¼ cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/3 cup powdered sugar
¼ cup red, white and pink candy-coated chocolate candies
2 tablespoons red or pink jimmies sprinkles

How to:
Place cereal in a large bowl. In small microwavable bowl, microwave vanilla chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth. Pour peanut butter mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.

Place 1/2 of the cereal mixture in 1-gallon food-storage plastic bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper or foil; cool about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, stir candies and sprinkles into remaining cereal mixture. Spread on waxed paper or foil; cool about 15 minutes.

In serving bowl, mix both cereal mixtures. Store in airtight container.
